HOBI 2017 – Home Building Industry Awards
Best Historic Rehab
Weston Rd, Westport, CT
The scope of the 1877 Colonial home remodel located in Westport, CT, included designing and building an addition to connect the existing detached garage to the home, while incorporating a large mudroom and laundry room which was relocated from the basement, renovation of an existing Powder Room and designing and building a Sunroom off of the Family Room at rear of the home. This room is for casual relaxation and entertaining, it has a huge window seat and the room is three sides of windows. Additionally, we renovated the existing kitchen incorporating new appliances into an existing layout and modification of existing ventilation system to accommodate the new oven and cooktop. The creative ideas, carefully selected materials and craftsmanship, seamlessly blends the new beautiful with the old. The entire home was occupied throughout the project and one of the owners is very sensitive to fumes, all paint and stain products including wood flooring stains and sealers and cleaners were low or no voc and organic.
