We accomplished our client’s goals by transforming the lower level basement from an unfinished empty and unused space into a modern living space with lots of functionality. The family lives in a beautiful newly remodeled home and the basement more than reflects the style throughout the home. We excavated and installed an interior under slab perimeter drainage system tied to a sump pump which is connected to stand by emergency back-up power. We relocated duct runs and waste piping to permit the most use of the space available. The lower level basement remodeled includes:

• A complete kitchenette for use during parties and when the existing upper floor kitchen requires supplementation.

• Full laundry room

• Powder Room

• Wine cellar and cigar lounge complete with humidor

• Remodeled exercise room.

This project brings back the client’s heritage and passion for great cigars in a fully customized wine cellar and cigar lounge. A set of glass French doors leads into the cigar lounge with its own humidor and custom designed smoke evacuation system which works so well that the next morning one cannot detect any smoke odor. An additional French doorway leads you to the wine room with a controlled temperature and humidity as well as a separate wine cooler for specific settings different than that of the room. Once inside the wine cellar, you are met with fully custom cabinets revealing stacks of many fine wine bottles and cases ready for the avid wine connoisseur. This space features stained wood paneled walls and an intricate coffered ceiling, wet bar, large high definition flat screen TV with an audiophile’s dream sound system, and oversized leather furniture giving it an iconic masculine feel making this wine cellar and cigar lounge the ultimate man cave!
